The Ber. J. H. 6. Chappie, who recently resigned tho charge of St. Andrew's' Presbyterian Church in South Canterbury, stated in tho course of his farewell address that it was likely that during ne:;t year the Unitarian Church would be established in Christchurch. Tho time wis evidently ripo in Christchurch for the formation of a along the lines of liberal religion and modern unitarianism. • Tho -Auckland Unitarians had recommended that the British and Foreign Unitarian Associaciation of London should grant £100 annually for three years in order to help a smtablo man in tho founding of a Unitarian Church in Christchurch. They had also recommended liim for that work, but tho future was in a nebulous state so far as he if as concerned, although personally ho had been compelled to find shelter in the Unitarian position.
