'The Joknsonville Town Board is to T>e informed by the City Council, in reply to a letter to that body on the.subject of electrioal supply, that the epunpil adheres to. its previous' resolution in. the matter, but is prepared"to-consider any; fresh proposals the board may ■ desire to -lay before.it. ; ■■■:■'■-■■ -.; . ■■.;.;

The City Council last evening adopted a recommendation by -its cAbattoir Committee that a suggestion.from.the Master. Butchers' Association. that arrangements be made for cleaning and boiling tripe at the abattoirs, and also the. jnestion of enlarging the cattle yards, be'referred to the city engineer for report as- to ways and means. The questions will then be considered at the next meeting of the committee.'' \ • ,

Councillor Fitzgerald asked tho Mayor last night: "Do -you intend to take any steps-with'a view to preventing the Harbour Board discolouring the" water .'of the Thorndoh. Baths ?"". Wim the discolouration of the, water at present going on, the councillor.stated it was almost impossible to have n'cleaii bath'a.t Thorndon. Councillor Fletcher declared .emphatically that the Harbour. Board.-was not discolouring the water of tho baths. The::dredging operations complained .of were separated from the baths toy, a'"wall.
