BAKED APPLES, /.Peel apples thinly,;.then remove ■: core; make a syrup by boiling 2oz. of loaf sugar with a" gill of water; put. apples in a deep dish and pour the syrup over them. Cook in a moderate oven, and baste Apples frequently with syrup. \yhen. they feel • tender when pieveed •with a skewer, put them on a dish,, pourins:'a little of the syrup over. then). ■\Vhip 3oz. of cream, sweeten and''flavour tij taste; then fill in centre of each apple with it, heaping it up.
