S; J: Serpell occupying -the chair.' There was a large and representative attendance. The stewards presented a'' satisfactory balance-sheet. ; Commendation was expressed, at the increased vitality .and success at. the: Karori and Brooklyn parts of .the circuit. :It,is'expected shortly, to make a/ forward; movement in' regard to the erection of-new, ■church buildings at Karon. The Rev. J. E. Clark, tho. pastor, was TmammOTsly invited to remain another year in- the circuit, which , was heartily /accepted. The resolution .of' tho conference in: re-, gardto tiie lay pastorate was mentioned by ; the .chairman, who-, reported' that several persons had been appointed to assist...the".minister ,in .thai part "of his work./ Renorts from, tie various depart-, meuts -of"the- Church were considered satisfactory,;, and.in most cases considerable vigour was .being manifested; /The' financial ,effbrts of the Ladies' Guild, which is doing good work, showed a sum of £33 as, a result o£ : the quarter's ■ work. The thanks of the Church was expressed by/resolution. ./Several gentlemen wei'e elected to represent 'the - , circuit on the, council of the Bible-in-Schools v League. Messrs., W. H..Bennett and F. Cliinchen were elected substitute representatives' to the annual Synod-in December next. :
