E.:S.;Gray (Cluistohurch) was appointetl the union's special representative at, the., Baptist: World's" Confer-! ence at Philadelphia in 1911, and the Rev. • Alfred Dowdney (Brooklyn) was appointed delegate to .the Baptist Conforenoe of Ans--tralasia, which' is .to. be: held., in 'Melbourne next March.' It contained thb following - recommendations,'', which! were.", adopted: (1)-That the! principle: of: annual.! reductions in" all grants be adopted'in the case of all aided churches, unless otherwise specially ■ or-'-dored by. resolution; of tho'!. union; l : (2), . that, unless; under special circumstances and by. special' resolution' of the union, no grant shall be continued beyond five years; .(3) that, 'without the special . explanation and resolution of the union, no grant shall be.made to any church.which proposes to; pay a stipend to its.minister, if married, at a,.'rate exceeding <£208 per annum, or, if unmarried. per' anduim, - ' ;'-'■ '..'-l'' - ;
