OAEELESS NAVIGATION. I By ToleEraph—Press Association-Copyright. (Iteo. October 7, 10.45 p.m.) Melbourne, October 7. '.. The Court of Inquiry into tlio wrec'i of tho ship Carnarvon Bay, off King Island, in Bass Strait, has found that the course taken by the captain was justified, but that tho ship was not navigated ro a careful, seaman-like manner from the time King Island was sighted. An efficient look-out was not kept, and ,the steersman was steering by the land. The loss was due to the ship striking a leef or rode. There was, howevor, insufficient" evidence to show whether the rock' was"charocd or not. It was decided to call tho Tasmanian Government's attention to 'the possibility of tho existence of an uncharted rock, NO FURTHER ACTION. (Rec. October 8, 1 a.m). Melbourno, October 7. The Marine Board has decided to take no further action with regard to the wreck of the Carnarvon Bay.
