. ST. THOMAS'S, NEWTOWN. At the daily celebration of the Holy Communion at 1- a.m. ; yesterday a very large number of intertiessions were ' offered. -At the 3 p.m.: service, which'was' well -attended, the -Missioner; (the Rev. H. V. Stuart) : continued,:the Bible readings from St.; Luke's Gospel.:: ■ ... The daily service for- children, at 4 o'clock is remarkable for . the keenness of the' children. . . ; . At .7 ' p.m. a short service of prayer was hold in the church, and-then the people, accompanied by the .vicar; choir, and. the Missioner's assistant, iMr. Joe Harris, proceeded to th'e junction»of Rintoul ana Riddiford - Streets, .near which <?pot ■ an open-air service, was held. , . At the mission service the church was filled. ' The' Missioner 'said; that Jesus, Christ came' to bring .to men - not. only forgiveness, 1 but-also strength; the power to becomeivictorious oyer'sin, if. they .will only seek that power in Christ's "way, and riot in their own way. , At. the ■ aftermeeting an instruction, or, confirmatioa was ; givcn, followed by' a devotional meeting.
