WEST COASTERS' ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL MEETING. ■ ■'. The annual meeting of the West Coasters' Association was held in the Hotel Cecil last evening, Mr. T. MTarland, sen., presiding: . : ■'.''... Apologies for absence were received from tho Hon. E. M'Konzie,, Minister for Public Works; Mr. Jus. Murdoch, Mayor of Kumara; and Mr. Bruce, Mayor of Koss. ..'-. The executive in their annual report stated that the membership of the association was steadily increasing.* About 50 names now appeared on tho roll, and there was every indication that the number would be further increased. It ,was regrettable that owing to many reasons, the principal one being the recent .depression, the executive had been unable to. carry.out the arrangements made at the commencement of the season to hold a series of entertainments extending over the 'year. The. incoming officers were, asked to keep:this matter in view, and, with the co-operation of; members in general, the executive felt.suro their efforts would be successful. ..'■-■ '.'..-. ''.-.' A vote of confidence was passed to tho secretary, Mr. C. J. PfafE. .

On the motion of Mr. W. Vincent, Mr. Pfaff seconding, it was agi-ced .that a committee be; set up: to control the finance- and affairs of ' the association; Messrs. E. Quin, W. Vincent, F. MTarland, jun., E. Dunn, and Chas, Reid were appointed to form.the committee. ;
