Swiridale was charged on the information of Emma Esther 'Sheil, Wellington, with having, assaulted and beaten the: informant. on August ; 18. .Mr. P. Jackson, appeared for.-' the. complainant and Mr.'-T. Hislop, for the defendant, '.'.. Mr. .P.Jackson, in stating complainant's' case, stated -that the affair lead-, trig, up to the- information being' laid ;oc-' burred on. the morning, of the date in question.
