PUBLIC SCHOOLS'. ASSOCIATION. " ,The annual meeting of the, Wellington Public Schools'' Cricket Association. was held at the Education Board Kooui on Saturday., . There was a • representative attendance of. delegates/ Mr. W. Gray, president of the " association, formallyopened . the proceedings, -but owing to, other engagements'-was unable to stay,l and. the. office of chairman was thereupon undertaken by. Mr. D, M. Teats.' , , The annual report and balance-sheet (already published in The Dominion) were read and adopted, the credit:balance being amended, after some discussion, to .CI Us. 7d. ■>. Mi Tesits,' qs head-, master of the Lower Hutt District High School, - the,.'challenge cup won by liis I school last season.

Mr.' J. Panning! raised the'; ciuestion of obtaining the services of a cricket coach. In Auckland, each school paid , a fee of r £s. The matter had lately been mentioned tentatively by the Wellington Cricket Association. Mr. P. A. . Wilson . thought that the idea was . an excellent one, but in Hawke's Bay the question of a coaching fee had never been raised, i'he general opinion expressed was against any step which might- ; commit the' association or the schools, to any expense in the matter. . The chairman thought that the association should wait for further details, from the Wellington Cricket Association before deciding the question'. Mr. J. A. Cowles was strongly against the introduction of ! coaohing, which would tend to colour school crickot with a slight -tint' of professionalism. After further discussion, t it 'was agreed to defer further consideration of. the matter till the Wellington Cricket Association made. definite proposals, when a special meeting would- be convened. SEATOUN CLUB. ' The annual meeting of the Seatoun Cricket Club was held at "Mahaki," Mr. C. ; Webb occupying'the chair. The report showed that the club played 21 matches, winning 16, losing i, and drawing 1. The balance-sheet showed that the club was in a good position financially. Votes of thanks were accorded to Messrs. C. J. .Crawford, A. Crawford,..C. M'Farlane, 6. A. Taylor, and W. Thompson for donations and trophies during the past; season.- The following officers, were elected for.the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. C. J. Crawford; president, Mr. J. Brodie (Mayor of Miramar); vice-presidents, Messrs. R. E. Bennett,; J. L. M'Clelland, 11. E. Richards, H. Crammond, C. L. H. Hawson, W. Murie, R. Ready, • J. V. Lousd'ale, Max Ivrcissig, C. M'Farlane, H. J. .Wyatt, J. Ayling, W. Thompson, and J. O'Connor; club captain, Mr. P. 'R. Fuller; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Alex. Grigg; trustees, Messrs. C.M'Farlano and P. ..It. Fuller; committee, Messrs. A. Branz, C. Webb, R. Digby, R; Douglas, H. Smith, A. A. Douglas, Alex. Grigg, and F. R. : Fuller; auditor, Mr. C. Webb. It was decided that the trophies won by Messrs. Branz (batting) and Reille (bowling) should be presented at a "smoke concert" later in the season. MATCH AT I'ETOXE. 1 On Saturday afternoon a crickot match was played l>etwcen teams representing tho Ilutt and Petonc "Chronicle" and the Petone Borough Council. The "Chronicle". went to the wickets first, and retired with Go to their credit, Wright (17) and Stephens (11) being top scorers. The council replied with 41, Nicholson (11) and Symes (9). In the second innings ''Chronicle" made 77, and had three wickets to spare, the chief scorers being .Oodd (27 not out), Wright : (16), anil ..U'lCenzio (li not out). " Council were all ■ disposed of for 35 iu their second innings, and were thus defeated by G3 runs. .The bowling analysis is- as follows:—"Chronicle": M'Kenzie, six wickets for 21 runs; Warnes, throe for 13; 'Wright, two for (I. Council: T. Bolton, six wickets for .15 runs; S. Bolton, fivo for 32; Fuller, two for. 4.
