Mr' Rutledge, Mr. M. Corrigan, tho transferee, being absent working hear Tai-i hape, and it was resolved: to take no aotion in the meantime, on tho understanding that Mr. Corrigan was ro•turning to tho. section in threo months' time. . ' Mr. G, H. W. Priest wroto asking for exemption from residence to enable him to'go to the Hot. Springs on account of his rheumatic complaint, or to bo allowed to purchase tho freehold of tho section forthwith. It was resolved
that as the license had been held for soven years only, there is not power to issue the freehold title. There will, however, be no objection to his going to the Hot Springs, but this approval is given without prejudice to the powers and privileges of the board, and his leaving the section will probably militate against his obtaining'the freehold titlo'in the future, or transferring tho seotion. Mr. P. S. M'Lean wrote asking to be allowed to dispose of the milling timber''on-Section 13, Oliakuuo V.5.,.5 acres, before he is forced'to effect improvements- and reside ■ on tho section. It was resolved to postpone taking any further action- for three months, so as to give him time,to sell the timber to a sawmiller. . V With reference to the . residenco of Mr. H. Hance, on Section la, Block VI, Moumabaki, 797 acres 1 rood 25 perches, the ranger reported on the same, and recommended that Mr." Hance's residence in a camp.of calico and slabs be accepted as habitable to date, but that he' should now be required to build ,a proper house, seeing that' there is ' a' good' read and- traffic bridge over the Makakako; stream. '■ It: was resolved :to . reebmriiend Section- 48, Block VIII, Belmont (Normandale), 19 acres 1 rood-18- perches, .being . reofferedon renewable ■ lease "at a' rent of £20 18s. 2d. p'er annum, weighted with £823 7s. ■ for improvements. It was resolved to recommend tnat. Section 45, Block VIII, Belmont (Normaridale), 83 acres 1 rood-35 perches, be reoffered on renewable lease, at an annual rental of £32 4s.- 10d., weighted with £104 for improvements.: It was resolved to rescind resolution of 25, 1910, on records 17,855/100, and;/ td approve of Sections 12 arid. 12a, Block XIV; Maungakaretu, 79 acres 1 rood-34 perches, being offered ■as ,- first-class land on optional system under Part 111 of The Land Act, 1908, at a capital value of £120. . The Mauriceville-.County Council submitted proposals for the: '..expenditure of thirds accrued to April 30, 1910.' The ranger's, report being' favourable, the board approved the proposals. The amount approved was £3 6s.';'3d/ • . '
