V RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION. The ' annual" meeting of i.lio ICilbirnie ' Ratepayers' Association . was held' last evening,- Mr'/ J... A. Hcginbotham presiding: over a . fair attendance of members. ■The'committee, 'in ..its .annual.' report, stated .that it had been instrumental in bringing before . the . Wellington City Council matters affecting the interests "of • ratepayers of, tho district and : the: com<fort of residents generally.,. Various' matters relating to ■ tramways, the'recreation reserve,; street lighting, street' improvements, drainage, and firo. prevention, were exhaustively, reviewed.' The report was adopted, and the following elected as a 'working committee for the ensuing year Messrs. Heginbotliam, : Clarlc,'Eas'son, Taylor, Ibbetsori, Fisher,' Fielder, Gellatly, and Matthews.
