MEE'I'ING OP THE EXECUTIVE,
A meeting of the local executive of the Navy League, was held last night, and was attended by Mr. 'J. B. H-arcourt (in the chair), Colonel; A.' Hume, Colonel G. I'\ C. 'Campbell,. Cap't. A. V. Jones, and Messrs. D. M'Ke'llar, C. W. Palmer, and V., 0. Borer. 'The secretary reported that in connection with the recent Town Hall, entertainment:'the receipts from programme advertisements and s-alo of tickets. had totalled Jij-t 3s, Gd.,. and the expenditure .£32 6s. 2d., leaving a balance o£ ,£ll. 17s. Id. l with several/ returns yet to come in! A , number, of' congratulations were received upon the success of the function. It was announced that the case of 1000 copies of "The Fleet in Being," ordered from Loudon, had arrived. A largo-supply of lan-tern slides made locally' for the Wellington branchwas ported .;to have been -/circulated: among other brailchos in New Zealand. As regards the approaching : anniversary of Trafalgar, on October 21, it'.was .'resolvedto'ask the school authorities to celebrate the'event as-in former, years./-It ;was decided . to. hold' .a ; supper at;- the Hotel Windsor.. in 1 -the ■ evening; and that' the price of tickets should be 6s;' - ■The Palmerston North sub-branoh wrote inviting Mr. Palmer to address a public meeting at Palmerston, and to shdw lantern slides early, in November. The .visit was,, approved.
