Sixteen fresh cases of cholera and ten deaths are reported from Naples, and in the province there have been, ton deaths.
In Juno last alarming aocounts of the spread of oholera came from' Russia. Ia July Tiflis; the capital of . the Caucasus,' was deolared to bo cholera-stricken, - and a most virulent, form of the disease began to rage fiercely over South Eussia. At Eosto£f-on-Dori thero wero 200 cases in a day.. The well-to-do inhabitants of Odessa left the city in terror, and- by August -7 there • were' over 1000- cholera cases ill the St. Petersburg hospitals, .the mortality later becoming extraordinarily severe. .- :: :
India 1b suffering gravely from cholera, The disease is endemic in ffiie East from Bombay to the south of China, and from India it generally spreads westwards by two routes—by sea to Egypt and . the Mediterranean, and by land to: Kashmir, Afghanistan, Persia,: the Caucasus, and Russia. . -
