Earth tremors have been occurring con- j tinuously in the Grand Canon of the Colorado River, in Arizona. ■ Both whito men and Indians are fleeing. Stones are crashing down tho mountain sides. The thirty extinct volcanoes in the district are not active as yet, but the earth's crust is believed to bo slipping. The Grand Canon of the Colorado River is a narrow gorge, from 4000 feet .to 6000 feet deep, extending for a distanoe of 300 miles on the lower course of tho river.
