G. ilarknesss. When the, item was reached, Mr; Harkness said'he was sorry,that the member concerned had. again absented himself, rather than stand up to the position. . . ■ ' : The chairman (Mr.' R. Fletcher).: Mr. ilacdoriald is very unwell. . Mr. Harkness then withdrew his notice of ;motion, .aad' gave notice of, the ..following questionV—"Was the/ resolution passed by tho board .in committee, on July 7, 1909, on the proposal to raise,a. 'loan of ,£500,000 in London, , conveyed to the' National Bank, of; New, Zealand, Wellington, in the -exact terms -.agreed ,upon, and' was 'tho'.'board- advised,, that tfo bank, as agents, -forVtho /Wellington Harbour.' Board, transmitted "the, - - above ■resolution' to the London branch without modification?" ' . The following is the resolution referred , to' in .the above question;—" That the National. Bank of New. Zealand, Ltd., be instructed sto cable ..'to y its ' London office that ' - the .. .Hon.,, 'T. ; Kennedy,: Macdonald has -no authority: in : any way to. represent the 1 : Wellington .' .Harbour.
