THE ANGLICAN MISSION
MEN'S MEETINGS. , THE GOSPEL AND' BUSINESS.;. ■/ r The 25-minnte meetings. for men, which are being held in-the Town Hall during the' Anglican General Mission, are addressed' daily- -by Bishop, Julius and Canon E. A. Stuart,:.the bishop regularly taking the 12.25 meeting. ' Yesterday Dr. \Julius -addressed about 100 ■ men and'youths-oh. the question . of Festus, "Who is this. Jesiis?" This, said the bishop, was. still the big question that had to: be decided in men's hearts. .He' was. old enough to remember fies that had been made in' Germany, had crossedto England, and trickled through to :New Zealand, all. to supply, answers: to .this. question. .Those answers', were discussed and forgotten, and the only oho' that remained ' was■ -that .given ■ by. the Catholic Church: arid the Word of God— "I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of. God, and .the;' Saviour .-'of the world.".'Was there anybody else to. whom any. of those.present would' trust... his eternal soul? Who . else spoke .'as He I spoke,' with authority ? • The preacher closed his.answer to these and' other.inquiries with a direct testimony from his own-experience. .-.-'.-
■-. Canon Stuart at the'l.2s meeting spoke plain words on the relation, between, the Gospel and business; The Gospel of Christ ,to busy .men' recognised ' that •'.' they were. busy and ought to be busy. It told them that-business was to be done with all the: power with. which ; God had' endowed them, .but also that .ib must be done for His praise and glory: The true reward of .business and .of all-work-, was-not .money,.':but character'.",. The man; who scamped his- work ..became. : a : -scamp;- : in character.; The man who was doing his work for God.was .'building up a character that would' stand; in "That;, ?Great .Day."' ■ The. business man; was' also .required to ~use" his' business ; i or helping his fellow men. ..GivihE'a man a- second, chance was. one' way; of'doing ..that.: The, ' busiest man 'must, find ;tihie for God..
