Chavez, the'aviator, who had both his legs broken; on alighting at Dom'o d'Ossola, after flying over, the Simplon Pass in an aeroplane, passed a ■ restless night; and showed a tendehoy to.collapse. ' M. Mahieu aeroplaned in the Paris to Brussels race somersaulted and fell fifty feet. -The machine was smashed; but M. Mahieu and his companion were uninjured. -.'! '.-.'■■-' [, r "■''. Mr..Lorraine, who.descended on to. the top Df.a tree, in! consequence, of'his aeroplane engine stopping, continued his flight in the Paris to' Brussels race, His biplane, however, collapsed; and; was smashed.
