THE PRINCESS AND THE TYPEWRITER.
Princess Mary has recently, learnt to type,-says an English paper. ; There-aw two lady typists attached to the secretarial staff at Marlborough . House, one of .whom, '- at the Princess's ' urgent request, instructed her lloyal; Highness in the art of typing. ~ ■ The Princess proved an apt pupil, and devffied herself so assiduously , to her work that after a few weeks' instruction, and practice she .was. able :to work a typewriter at _ quite a fair rate of speed. Her Royal Highness during her holidays at Balmoral will i assist in the typing of some of' the more private correspondence of King George. .. A , The . Princess also . intends to learn, .shorthand, and is keenly looking forward to helping Queen' Mary- regularly with her. 'correspondence: when' the Boyal [Family settle at Buckingham Palace. Princess Mary .is; the first English Royalty io have learnt typing, and it may ,be also noted; that her Royal Highness was the'first Eoyalty to open an account at the Post Ofiice Savings Bank, which the .Princess did on her tenth birthday.
