BATHER'S DEATH AT KARAKA BAYr - THE INQUEST. The Coroner (Mr. W. E. Haselden) held an inquest at the morgue,yesterday after"v - noon touching'tho death of 'Albert Edward Williams, which occurred as:the re- ; 5..;". suit of a bathing acoident at Karaka, Bay; /. • on Sunday afternoon. .: ~, yv .7- 'V -: Dr. Fred Thomas Bowerbank, 17 Eevans" Street, said that ho was called to Karaka. 1 Bay at 2.15 p.m. on Sunday, and arrived ' >*,-• at the Bay at .'2.30 p.m. Deceased was lying on his faco in a boatshed on tho. beach, : and somii men were .'applying arlificial- respiration. Ho (witness) continued " •the respiration,' and injected strychnine, ; as the pulse was practically imperceptibla ''... and the faoo very blue. ■ Every effort ■> * . was mado ;.to restore ,liinv ; and 'the sures taken sucoeetlyi so far. - that tho v ' r ; ; . pulse became "slightly, perceptible....
