A recent cable message referred to the death by-drowning in ; Sydney of Mr.: Arthur Edwards, of "The Arcadians" Company. .v Details of the accident whichtook place' late on': Saturday week ■ cam® to band by last evening's-mail.— . - It seems (says the Sydney "Herakri that Mr. Edwards had been yachting the afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Aaolph Shadier and child, Miss .Schroder,, and Mr. James Wood (Neutral Bay), and just before 5 o'clock anchor was dropped;ia North Harbour. Messrs. -Wood: and Edwards then put off in the yacht's Bft dinghy to row to the Mandy Wharf, and when about 400 yards ..from the party, opposite Fairlight . House, were ; seen- to upset. ■ No immediate .assistance- was. available. Mr. Wood was'seen clinging to the dinghy, holding his companion up, but 'his powers failed: him. Young Edwards sank' despite every effort, -and when Mr. Wm. Cockford reached the spot by strenuous effort he was only ia tim-a to save 1 the almost unconscious. survivor. Mr. Wood was-taken to the-houso of a Mrs. Collier near by, where ho recovered rapidly with tho aid of restoratives.
