"BANK RATES OF INTEREST. The Bank of England discount rate was raised on October 7 last from 2i to 3 per cent., on October 14 to 4 per cent., , and on October 21 to 5 per cent. On Dcccniber-9 it was reduced to 4£ per cent.; on January'2o to 3J per cent., and on February 10 to 3 | per cent. On March 17 it was again raised 1 to 4 per cent., ou June 2 it was reduced to 3£ per cent, and on Juno 9 to 3 per cent. The Bank of France rate was reduced from 3$ to 3 per cent, on January 23, 1908, .and . remains at tho latter figuro.
