After leaving the wreck the occupants of tho Carnarvon Bay's "boat had a . stiff three hours' . struggle in a. rough sea. .. Eventually they landed on . the southeast end of King's Island, and travelled through eight miles of scrub before they ..reached a habitation. They wero then ii\ an exhausted condition, and wero provided with food and clothing and sleeping accommodation.
