In his report to tho London County Council,, Medical Officer under tlio Education Authority, states; that toothbrush clubs 1 , havo boon foi'med'inconnection with certain day.-scliools.' These brushes ; ai'e .. then, after some preliminary instruction, sold to tile children for '2Jd.' each, . paid . ' in, instalments of id. and |d. per week,, the small.profit being used to supply toothbrushes to the-very poor children. Pre-, eipitated chalk is also sold in''halfpennyworths,, arid it is found that number,s. of. tho children readily join the clubs, and some even save their money to buy toothbrushes as birthday presents l'or their" parents, One boy went-, on his own .initiative, into the streets at Christmas to sell toys in order to obtain, money to join a toothbrush club." .
