Messrs. Penrose and Company boot importers, Hastings Street, Napier, «hose advertisement appears in this issue, occupy what is undoubtedly admitted to bo one of the most attractive business emporiums in New Zealand. The premises have a frontage of 24ft. by a depth of 80ft., the whole being taken up by a most comprehensive and, 'complete stock, artistically- shown. This in fact may be said to be a feature of Mr. Penrose's business, show- 4 ing the goods «ell and marking them in plain figures. The business was puri chased some eighteen months by Mr. Penroso from Messrs. faltelton, I'Yostick and Company, the well-known Christcburch boot nmnfacturers, and since-Mint time has progressed wonderfully. Mr. Pentose ascribes his success to keeping an up-to-date slock, with moderate cliarges. A norkiooiiMS attached to the retail premises, under a most competent hand, and intending customors may always rely upon their oidcrs recoiving the best attention and workmanship. At the Strozzi Palace, in Rome, there ft a book made of marble, the leaves being .wonderfully thin. -
