PROPOSED PRISON FARM.
INSPECTION ' BY- MINISTER FOK , JUSTICE. On ihis way back- to '.Wellington, from Auckland the Minister for Justice, the Hon. Dr. Findlay, paid a visit of inspection to. tho proposed prison farm at Tolcamii. Dr. Findlay went over the whole of the farm grounds, and went fully into the question of buildings and 'other preliminaries necessary, to gi v o effect to the scheme he outlined recently in his paper on the prison reform scheme. The Minister hopes to get thi necessary authority to erect buildings for the accommodation of some thirty or more prisoners so as to enable a start to bo made with the work within the next few weeks. Tho first batch of prisoners vcill. be employed in pr6parin« permmient buildings for t-lio housing of the w-hole of the prisoners who will be sent to tho farm. . Ultimately, says Dr. Findlay, thsro mil bo between 300-and 400 prisoners employed on the farm, which is expected, to work most satisfactorily,
