That Mr. H. H. Travers bo informed, in reply to his application for a position as.assistant.curator ; and lecturer at. tho Newtown, Museum, that the council regret that,'they are.not in a.sufficiently financial position to make tho ap-pointment.-^-Adopted.. ■.: ■. The .Outlying Districts Committee recommended—That the Island Bay' ratepayers be informed, in reply to their request, for.the formation of-a footpath at Mersey: Street,-..that as there is no money available the work cannot be carried out at the-present, time. That, with respect to tKe construction of tho culvert at Island Bay, the original scheme of completing the portion northwards to Mersey Street and the construction of side drains from Mersey aud Humber Streets bo adhered to', and that.tho owner's of .property through which, tho stream runs be, called upon to clear same forthwith to the satisfaction of the city engineer.—Adopted.'
