A No-License campaign opened here on Monday night, when Mr. W. Hawkins, "with the gloves: off," stood up to "refute; statements concerning the; results of: Nolicense in Ashburtou, Invercargill, • and other, No-License areas, and published■ on the very eve of the. last local option polling day, by the Liquor party in the Otaki electorate, There were about one hundred present in the Druids' Hall, and the speaker received a good hearing.. He jOffered-to give- .£5 to some looal charity if his contentions were falsified; and he challenged Mr. W. Thompson, who is to contest tho Otaki electorate next year, to debate the subject with him on the local platform. Mr. G. H. Gibb was in tho chair;- . •;.
