I A general meeting of the .Port.'Nicholson Cycling Club was .held, last ..night. Mr. W.H. Edwards; presided.. The. chief business was .to draw, up, a programme of club events' for. the coming season. ■'. The City .Council having 1 granted the club permission, to. hold cycle events on Basin Reservo during'summer months,-: it was decided, to hold, races every alternative, Wednesday,.'beginning oh .the first' Wednesday.in October, and continuing till the' ■end of March.' 'There.'will bo two events on the -first-night-* -one'-, mile'- -novice race and a one mile club race. In the latter event professional and amateur irid;ers will.be permitted to compote, subject to the club's obtaining the permission, of the centre. The handicappers for the, season will be.Messrs. F.:Rocoe and M. :Eord. Mr. D. Leslie.-..is, to be asked to, accept the position of starter. -■
