TOWN BOARD ELECTIONS.
$ THE POLL AT UPPER HUTT. There was considerable interest in tba election of a new Town Board for-Upper flutt yesterday. A section of the ratepayers have not been altogether satisfied with the manner in which the affairs of the district have been conducted, and ■ tho result of this was the setting up of rival tickets, which roused a healthy in- - terest in the election, the result of which has given satisfaction to the majority of those concerned. The following was the result o£ the election (which was not declared until over two hours after tho poll closed):— ■ - Elected. P. Davis 175 H. C. Gibbons ...- - 153 J. T. Benge 153 W. Burrell 151 K. Greenwood —• 47 On the declaration of the poll by the Returning Officer (Mr. A. "J. M'Curdy), < 1 tho electors were addressed by Mr. P. i Davis (who headed the poll), and Messrs. Gibbons. Webb, J. I.
