For use on the sledge journeys cameras of metal, especially light and strong, have been mado. Two kihematograph machines are being taken, one of which 'is said: to.be the niost powerful yet devised. A complete equipment is being taken for developing all-films on 'the spot, and a dark room' is built for that purpose in the winter hut. A large.stock of plates.is ;being taken for securing, the. effects of .the Antarctic 'in true natural colours, and the expedition is especially equipped for tho/ most rapid work, for telephotography, for'-making photomicrographs, and for flashlight work..
