The German Government has been seriously embarrassed by the action of Socialists. The authorities had absolutely prohibited any demonstration in tho vicinity of. Freidberg, Grand Duchy of Hesse, where the Tsar and his family arc staying, but this did not prevent the Socialists holding a largo gathering within five miles of the town.. Some of the speakers denounced the Tsar as a tyrant. Similar demonstrations were held in other ' places. Jewish speakers took part;' They spoke of the Tsar as an anti-Semite. The semi-official organ of the Government, the "Norddeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung," has sternly those who took-part in the demonstrations.
