Shortly after 8 o'clock last night, a Constable Street jumped the jjointt at t-liQ intersection-of Elizabeth Street and Kent Terrace, and caused some delay to traffic on that route. The car was successfully jacked back into place about twenty minutes 'later. The annual meeting of the 'Wellington Industrial Association will be held on Tuesday evening nest. < . The Arbitration Court will commence its' Wellington sittings at 10.30 this morning. The Chief Justice will be engaged today with the hearing of an originating summoris in the dispute between the Feilding Borough . Council and the Feilding Gas Company. A. deputation from the Wellington Hospital Board, consisting of the chairman (Mr., J. G. W. Ait-ken), the Rev. W. A. Evans, Messrs. R. C. Kirk, and G. T. London, will wait upon the Reserves .Committee of the City Council at an ■ early date to further urge that a Bill be prepared for Parliament for the purpose of allowing the ' council ' power, to convey to the board that strip of Town Belt. situated between Salamanca, Road and the frontage -to the board's sections. Relief was also dispensed in cases of destitution in the Hutt Valley, Hutt County, and Johnsonville,. sub-districts. The younger State School children of the Wadestown portion of: the Wellington Education District wlio are at present being instructed in St. Luke's Anglican, Sunday School, owing to lack, of accommodation at the Main ..School; were yesterday considerably interrupted, and also somewhat frightened, by the lifting of ono corner of the • roof during a particularly gusty wind. The momentary anxiety of the'children was, however, dispelled by the teacher. The weak spot in the roof was, subsequently nailed down, and, as a further safeguard, it was roped over.
