Twelve thousand of ! the Cambrian Company's miners have decided to strike to-morrow, regardless of the conference's decision. (Eec. September 19, 9.30 p.m.); London, September 18. , The conference of. the Miners' Executive, held at Cardiff, pointed out the enormous financial responsibility involved if the masters sued the 12,000 men 1 , for breach of contract for stopping without notice, as regards which;'the Cambrian colliers were without' defence. Eleven hundred and seventy-one lodges supported the executive's proposal for a levy, a month hence of .Is. per member in support of the Cambrian men strikFourteen hundred and eighty-three' lodges favoured a ballot on the proposal for.a general. strike. The masters, who have long feared that a strike was inevitable, are expected to reply to the Cambrian colliers by locking out two hundred thousand miners.
