An announcement in Junior Cadet Orders, published yesterday, states that the Auckland branch of the Victoria League' desires the ' assistance and cooperation of the junior cadets in restoring and maintaining in decent order and repair the burial-places of those who fought and fell in "the early days of the colony. It is suggested that members of the jfinior cadets who reside near any of these burial-places should report, through headquarters, to the _ Soldiers' Graves Committee of the Victoria League as to their present state. It. is also suggested that cadets and scouts might become members of the .Victoria League either singly or by units. "The purpose and objects, of the league," states the commandant (Major T. W. Singleton, the clergyman, who; is the principal figure in the story, was .heartily greeted, and so was Mr. Reynolds Denniston, another, member of the firm, while a flattering -reception was given Miss Lizette Parkes, who .played the role of the tomboy,. Simplicity Johnson. There was a great round of applause when Mrs. Robert Brough walked on.
