The annual cross-country race, cbndiict ed under the auspices of the Canterbury College Athletic Club,, was hold this at" ternoon at Cashmere. The course was a: circular one of about six miles, and comprised plough land, grassed land, hill land, and a variety of fences, hedges,' and water jumps. . Twenty competitors started, and. the race was- "outout" in very good time. , The 'fastest time wns made by L.' A, Dougall (scr.), covered tho distance in 32miri. 9sec, the , second * fastest time being made by Jones (32min. 29sec). Other good times were made by C. Mnlthus (3fimin. 23sec), and Gabites (33min. ■. 29seci)... Dbug'all beat his own record of 36min. sGsec, made in 1908. Tho following is the result.—W."
