THE JURY SYSTEM.
Sir,—Our jury system in divoi.-co cases is absolutely rotten. Of the men .chosen to servo as jurors there are some' open to outside influences detrimental >to tho course of.justice. 1 This is not nocrely a matter of opinion;. it is a fact. .It is, thorefore, time our legislators altered the jury system. When a jury is emijanelled to hear , u divorce case' it should remain at tho courthouse or under police surveillance tlite' whol« of the time from 6tart to finish. If this is' dono in criminal cases, why not in divorce cases? Surely a defended divorco case is equally as important, if not more important, tlian a criminal case. It should certainly not be possible for any party to a divorce* suit or any of his friends to speak to jurymen either, before or. during the' "hearing of tho case, but this has been dflroo under the present system, with tho doplorablo result, of course, that them have been gross miscarriages of justico.-'I am, . et °" .
