MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
"I.■■■'"■ - "' ■'•.71-..■.-■■■• /-::-/., '■'■ The weekly, 'ambulance was held at the Missions, to Seamen Institute last evening, before,' an interested audience. ' - Mr.. James /Moore, the missioner,. who .occupied: the' chair, gave several demonstrations showing how, to bandage broken limbs and ..a .'fractured jaw, and. the nwthod of • restoring the appai'ently drowned or suffocated. . He' also . gave useful hints . relating to ' health matters. Competitions, in -connection with rescuing a patient from a ; burning building and various other, branches of-ambulance -work,.', were won by 'sailors from ships in port.. A good 'programme'of music was provided bv Miss.Dement,, a .much-valued mission helper; the follow-ing contributing .items:—Misses . Scott, Brown (2), Shaw, and W. Dement, and Messrs. C. Colpus, Sicvors, Brown, and Gardner. The performers were accorded a. hearty vote of thanks: at the conclusion.
