KINQ INSPECTS CANADIANS.

I have had pleasure in receiving to-day at Balmoral a representative detachment of the Queen's Own Rifles of' Canada, and in hearing of their successful work at tho ; manoeuvres. The spirit thus-shown by the Dominion is a good augury of the future of the Imperial Army.

His Majesty, after inspecting the detachment, said he trusted that, tho good example of participating in .the Army, manoeuvres in the Motherland, which had now been set by.-tho-Queen's Own. Rifles of Toronto, would be followed in the future by many regiments from.the other Dominions of the Empire.

Six hundred and twenty-five men and officers of the Queen's Own Eifles aro taking part in the British manoeuvres this year," the expenses of the trip having been defrayed-.by. the .'Commander/of. ■the Tegiment, Lieut.-Colonel Sir H. 11. Pellatt, a well-known broker, of Toronto.
