The aerial scout service with which experiments have been made in connection with the German Army manoeuvres 'has,proved unsuccessful. ■ The Parseval was captured in consequence of a rainstorm compelling it to descend in the enemy's territory. Tho observers in the other dirigibles wore hoodwinked by the erection of sham field works with' tree trunks arranged in imitation of guns.
Tho reports from the dirigibles led to preparations being- made for an attack at daybreak. Meanwhile. the enemy was entrenched miles away.,
