All Blenheim..-and a good portion of Marlborough turned out to witness tho. return match between Wellington B representatives and Marlborough, which took place on the showgrounds this afternoon. Tho day' was linty with u fairly strong breeze blowing diagonally across % th'o ground. The visitors won tho toss, and played with tho wind slightly in their favour, but with the sun in their faces. Marlborough kicked off, and immediately set upan attack; A free-kick in a good position gave O'Brien a shot at goal, wliich.he turned to good account. Marlborough, 3; Wellington, nil. Soon after resumption, Campbell had a shot at goal from a free-kick, but missed, Marlborough forcing, Tho Wellington backs tried some passing rushes, from one of which Mathieson got over. Bradley- failed with the.kick at goal. Marlborough, 3; AVollingtou 3. Wellington now. used their, back's, and ono or ; .:two .pretty passing bouts resulted. Roberts_ then marked, Campbell goaliug. . THIRD-CLASS. As a "curtain-raiser" to the Otago. Wellington mafck, tho third-class teams Southern and Poneko met at Athletic Park on Saturday in the semi-final of the championship.. In the first spell Poneko..led by 3 points to nil. Jenkins secured a try, which Morris 'converted* and Morris kicked a penalty goal. Tho second half was all in favour- of Southern, and they succeeded in equalising the scores before the'whistle sounded. Wetheroll scored a try which Capper converted, and Capper kicked a penalty goal. The match, which was controlled By Mr.R. Larwajy was. .well worth watching. Pctono defeated St. Patrick's Collego by 7 points to 3.; Oriental defeated Porirua by .16 points to 3. For tho winners tries we're scored.by M'Conisky (2), Stewart, and M'Keowen.
