, Sir,—Although the''new 'pamphlet issued by the Tlunket Nurse/people contains 143 pages, it has no table of con--' tents nor any', division into" "chapters. ■ Hence it is almost impossible to reviewit seriously. It consists of-an immense collection of clippings, .'.and .remarks, many of very great value; but all .pitch-, forked together haphazard.. Many,important matters are left outi not 'deliherI ately, but because the author has never 'drawn out 'a'scheme 'of the proposed book. Had' slio done this, arid separated' her materials : into bundles, and fitted each into ■ its proper chapter, she must havo seen at a glance that,the work waslike' a picture puzzle, with" pieces missing. • 1 believe such .a ..pamphlet could npt bo procured outside/the British Empire. My work forces me to use French and German books,- and the arrangement is invariably so careful that I can get a very'good knowledge of the scope of a small monograph (in German) without knowing, a word of -the, language'., 'The: pamphlet under 'notice jjnny bo. said to iill a', want, because the • Public Health Department informed me' a few weeks ago that ho book whatever-on the care of infants was purchasable in the colony..
