ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
CHILD FATALLY BURNT. (Bj .TeleeraDD-Press Association... Westport, September 9. A child named George, aged four years, died as.the result of burns sustained through its clothes catching fire at a fireplaco in its parents' residence. BUSHFELLING. Wanganui, September 9. A young man named A. Stevens, whoso relatives are believed to reside in AYairarapa,-'-was killed this morning inland of Waverloy by a tree falling on him while ho was bushfelling. His mates carried . the . body ten miles, through a bush track to the main road.
OCCURRENCE NEAR OPOTIKI. Auckland, September 9. Two men, Edward Fair and . Emrys Evans, left Opotiki for Ohiwa in a small boat on AVcdncsday night. The boat was found washed ashore, and Evans's body was discovered subsequently on .the- beach. It is believed that both men have been drowned.
