He suggested that 'Mr. Wallace should amend his motion as follows:—" That no teacher in future appointed to auy position in a school of a higher grade than Ob shall be eligible for promotion, unless lie or she lias served for at least two years in a country school." Mr. Wallace adopted the chief inspector's suggestion, and the motion,, as accordingly amended, was carried unanimously.
