General' regret is felt at Cambridge (says the "Christian World") at the announcement that Mr. H. G. Wood, or.o of the joint secretaries of the Cambridge Free Church Council, is removing to Birmingham, -whero lie has accepted an appointment : at tho Woodbrook Settlementj which is '.under the presidency of Dr.' Rondel Harris, and is supported by the Society of Friends. Mr. Wood is a man of evangelical fervour, and a remarkable wide range of knowledge. Ho took a first-class in tho Classical Tripos of 1902, and first-class in the Theoloogical Tripos in 1.904, with distinction in Now Testament. Ho won the Caius Prize, the Jercmic Prize, the Crosse . Scholarship, _ and Lightfoot Scholarship, and having been mado a Fellow of his College, ho lectures in History and Economics. He has been a power for good in Cambridge, and should have a successful career in Birmingham,
