SMOKE CONCERT. The Wellington Pipe Band and Dancers' Club gave a musical smoke evening to its members and friends ■in their club room, Riddiford Street. Tho programme, which was entrusted to Drum-Sergeant "W. R. Potter, was highly appreciated .by an audience of over one hundred. Items wore rendered by : Messrs. Paton, A. ' Smith, M'Caull, S. Perkins. W. E. Boyd, A' Reid, Pitt, Major C. D. M'lntesh, D. Gillies, Thompson, Lieutenant WilkinBoiij Verne and Henry, and A. S. Frost (pipe-major). Mr. Harold Godier supplied' the § accompaniments most satisfactorily. ' Tho' ; piano was lent by Messrs. Chas. Begg and Co.: The president (Mr. D. Qillies) and pastpresident, and life-member Major C ,D. Mackintosh,,-aiid Lieutenant .Willis delivered short speeches. Reference was made to .tlio decease of Mr. David M'Luren; Campbell, a-life member of. the club, and for whom a benefit was in preparation, and which now would bo directed to his aged widow. The old couplo were known throughout tho Dominion, and highly respected.
