He... had taken a couple of drinks' before lie went there,-but. was sober. He met. a man named' Tom Hickey. in.tho-, bar and bought 'drinks for himself and Hickey. He. had £ 5 6s. in his pocket and when he bought drinks he changed a sovereign. 'Wheiv paying for the-' , drinks he might have pulled out more tha'n : one coin, but was not sure.
