The coroner to-day opened an inquest into the death of Eileen Alice O'Brien, aged 21, the giri, whose body was found last week lying in. a bleak spot among the sandhills 'at Randwick.' The Government Analyst, who examined the stomach of the deceased, deposed that it contained ergotin and traces of an unknown drug. The examination was not complete. ', . : The mother, of the deceased, Nurse Roe, who had married again, stated in her evidence that she was not aware that the girl was in any .trouble. . Mrs. Nock deposed that on the day of Miss O'Brien's disappearance ehe was at the residence of 'Nurse Brown (since arrested in connection with, the death). A young lady came in. while she-was there, and went upstairs with Nurse Brown. Shortly after Brown came down and said the", girl had fainted. Witness, went .up and .helped.to carry the girl to tiie bal.cony.■■■Brown then sent her on a message to Nurse Roe's. The witness saw no more of the girl. The following Wednesday she ; saw Nurse Brown at the races, and Brown told her that they had put the girl, on the sandhills. The witness , remarked: "How cruel!" and Brown replied'that it was better to put. her there than to throw her over the cliffs,, as 'the. girl's father and mother wanted. . Nur.=6 Roe denied having visited Brown, and also the statement about throwing the body over the cliffs.
