Mr. Glynn (ex-Attorney-General) agreed, that there was nothing unconstitutional in the main provisionsy but he was afraid the Bill would break down. In the House of E-epresentatives , Mr. Glynn (South' Australia) urged that tho land tax was glaringly . unjust and amounted to confiscation. "It would deter companies in- other parts, of the world from opening up operations in Australia. . Mr. Foster claimed that the .tax was a tax oil production, -and w.ould hit the farmers badly. ,
