Mr. Spiller (Cliristchnrch) said he wae ono of a deputation which waited on Bishop Grimes on tho sanie subject. He was very sympathetic, and promised to move in the matter, but him not done so. He was sorry to say that one Presbyterian minister who had been approached said that tliero was no cruelly, nnd the movement was not needed. (Laughter.) It was finallv moved by Mr. Chodowski, and carried, "That this conference urge on societies to ask the clergy in each centre to deliver addresses on kindness to a&imala on one Sunday in the yoart"
